Happy Vyshyanka Day!

Every year on the third Thursday of May, Ukraine celebrates Vyshyvanka Day. In 2024, this day falls on May 16.

The first time this holiday was celebrated was in 2006. Five students of the History Department of the University of Chernivtsi founded the Vyshyvanka Day. The history of the holiday is very interesting. At the time, it was a kind of challenge.
Today, virtually every Ukrainian has at least one embroidered shirt or dress. Embroidered elements are back in fashion, appearing all the time and on world catwalks.
