United For You project became a partner of the exhibition of the artist Oksana Fursa, held at the National Taras Shevchenko Museum

On May 15, Ukrainian ambidextrous artist Oksana Fursa presented her solo exhibition RUST at the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko. The exhibition features 20 paintings from the series “RUST REPRODUCTION”.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by cultural figures, friends and colleagues of the artist: Dmytro Stus, Maryna Kinakh, Yulia Shylenko, Natalia Zabolotna, Viacheslav and Iryna Dyudenko, Diana Dorozhkina, Natalia Ignatchenko, Oleh Pinchuk, Oleksandr Yunin, Oleh Margolin, Iryna Pluta and others.
The evening was hosted by Honored Artist of Ukraine Dmitry Oskin.

This is the artist’s seventh solo exhibition at the National Taras Shevchenko Museum. It should be reminded that in 2022, the artist presented a marathon exhibition “Between Heaven and Earth”.

“This exhibition is very significant for me as an artist and a person who has been acutely aware of the pain of our land during the war. My first war exhibition was opened on July 5, 22. It was at the National Taras Shevchenko Museum, which was the first to open an exhibition season during the war in Ukraine. Then I gave myself the instruction that my next exhibition in this museum would be the denominator of the end of the war. Right now, I feel the need to show the public a retrospective of my creative endeavors, which captured all the historical and significant events of the war in Ukraine on canvas. Sometimes with pain, sometimes with irony and grotesqueness,” says Oksana Fursa, “This is my creative story. I painted during the war as I had never painted before. And it’s not only about the record number of works in two years, but also about a radical change in my author’s technique, which was born during the creation of the Rust collection.”
Oksana Fursa is the owner of a unique technique of counter stroke. The artist creates her paintings with both hands simultaneously.

An interesting and eventful program awaited the guests at the opening: an author’s tour of the painting exhibition by Oksana Fursa, a show of a new collection of silk paintings of the Rust series in scarves and a capsule collection of tunics AURUM, a presentation of the RAZLOM sculpture in collaboration with sculptor Vlad Endurov, an incendiary performance by the Ukrainian rock band YARRA, a presentation of an exclusive collection of Chateau Pauk Sauvignon Blanc wine with the artistic label Rust, and a tasting of craft cheeses from the restaurant Poryadnyi Gazda.
The concept of the Rust exhibition:
Rust is an allegory for the destruction of weapons. Rust – through which we all germinate and reproduce, with bright colors, as a new nation. The rust that eats away at our souls with fear and uncertainty during the war! The rust that eats away at our future.
The exhibition is open to the public from May 16 to June 2, 2024 with a ticket to the museum. The Taras Shevchenko Museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday (from 10:00 to 18:00, ticket office – until 17:15). Monday and Tuesday are days off.
